Jim Thompson

Jim Thompson is a registered lobbyist and has been a partner with Thompson & Associates, LLC, since joining the firm in 1994. He has extensive experience with government relations in all of the firm’s specialty disciplines and has a special interest in economic development projects as well as PAC development and implementation. Thompson is engaged in actively advocating the legislative and executive branches of government on behalf of the firm’s clientele at the Mississippi State Capitol.

A 1989 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School, Thompson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Business Administration from the University of Mississippi in 1993. Thompson’s first professional taste of politics came as a deputy campaign manager for Judge Leslie Southwick during Southwick’s 1994 candidacy for the Mississippi Court of Appeals. In 2011, Jim was on the Transition Team for Governor Phil Bryant. Thompson is a member of the National Association of State Lobbyists.

A Jackson native, Thompson is an avid supporter of Ole Miss athletics and enjoys golf, hunting and fishing. Jim and his wife Ashley live in Ridgeland, and they have two children, Cora and Jack.
